Product Description

Osmo UV Protection Oil is a clear satin finish for all your outdoor, natural wood.

At last you can appreciate the beautiful colour of your natural wood without the rapid greying effect of the sun! Osmo UV Protection Oil guards against the effects of UV light on exterior wood without the need for a traditional pigmented finish.

As long as the rain or water can run off the wood (e.g. a vertical surface) then the UV-Protection Oil effectively prevents the greying process as a stand-alone finish by a UV-protection factor of 12 in comparison to untreated wood.

Osmo Exterior UV Protection Oil Extra 420 contains biocides to keep your wood beautiful for longer.

Supplied in a 2.5 litre tin.

Recommended for exterior vertical surfaces such as cladding, windows and doors.
Special, clear ingredients protect against UV-rays.
Does not crack, peel, flake or blister.
Osmo UV Protection Oil is for exterior use.

Application

  • Before application of Osmo UV Protection Oil the wood surface must be clean, dry, with a moisture content of no more than 20 percent.

  • Remove any old varnish from the wood surface, and remove any fungal decay and algae from older wood surfaces.

  • There should be a minimum 15 degree angle on architectural joinery on the horizontal plane (e.g. windowsill). Sharp edges must be rounded (corner radius > 2 mm)

  • Stir the Osmo UV Protection Oil thoroughly. Do not thin the mixture

  • If using indoors ensure that the room is well ventilated

  • Apply Osmo UV Protection using a stiff brush, evenly and thinly along the wood grain.

  • When used as a complete finish apply second coat after drying.

  • Allow 12 hours to dry
